Groundswell Test Market

What do you need to know about the Groundswell Test Market on Granville Island that is happening every Tuesday from 11am - 4pm until the end of August?

Validation, validation, validation!

These entrepreneurs have the opportunity to test their products, services, brand, pricing, placement, online engagement, etc. with the support of the Groundswell Community and each other. Vendors are looking to have discussions about their products and see what resonates with customers and take this feedback to try something different next week. Pik'l Up usually has about 800 engagements per market! They are looking for feedback on the flavour of their product and they want to know what people like or don't like; folks leave written feedback in exchange for samples. Munchies Foodshare has been trying different flavour combos as well as finding their niche - are they a healthy snack food or a dessert topping? We take time after each market to chat about what worked, what didn't work and what we learned. This gives participants the opportunity to learn from the trials of other vendors and fine-tune their own ventures. So many aspects to test, so little time!

New businesses are very vulnerable and Groundswell wants to provide a market that reduces the risk by supporting them as much as possible with their new venture. Many of the Test Market participants are interested in pursuing their passion and doing good in their community. This may be by supporting the zero waste movement, providing delicious plant-based food options, or providing ethical wages to farmers or artisans.
