Join us at Car Free Day for Groundswell's 1st Market Day

Bring your hats and sunscreen – the forecast is looking beautiful for Groundswell's 1st Market Day of the year! It will also double as the 1st Test Market day for Groundswell's newest cohort. The Market Day will be held at the Main Street Car Free Day on Sunday June 17 from 12 to 7pm. You can find us on the east side of Main between 12th and 13th Avenue. We're sharing a block with Village Vancouver, a transition town initiative that helps build resilient and sustainable communities. Thank you, Village Vancouver, for supporting Groundswell and the local economy!

Who You'll Find There

Along the Groundswell block, you'll find a mix of vendors including Build alumni and this year's Test Market cohort. These Groundswell vendors will be showcasing their socially conscious businesses and selling their products.

Here are some of the Build alumni vendors who'll there:

We're so excited to see our newest Test Market participants in action this Sunday. You'll have a chance to visit some of their businesses at Car Free Day:

  • Denise Fort Art takes an environmentally friendly approach to artwork and design of everything from cards and notebooks to bags and jewellery.
  • Makemobile provides art workshops that promote social connection, discussion, and co-creative space in public places.
  • Natural Botanical offers a line of handmade, all-natural, locally and organically sourced beauty products. 3% of sales fund creative programs for youth in care.

We'll be there too!

You'll also find Groundswell at Car Free Day. Chat with us and ask us your questions about what we do and the alternative business programs we offer.
